Whatever your skill or interest, we have a class you'll enjoy. Most classes are held in the evening after regular hours and are limited to eight people. New class schedules are published in September, December and March.

You can either sign up for classes in person or over the phone with a valid credit card. Payment is required to reserve your spot and there will be no refunds or credits for withdrawal from any class. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment a complete refund will be made. Please come in and buy your supplies before the first class.

Classes fill up quickly, please call to check availability.

All classes, except beginning knitting, require basic knitting experience.

Private Lessons

We offer private knitting and crochet lessons (generally one hour long) during regular hours Tuesday thru Friday for anyone who prefers individual instruction, needs help with a specific project, or cannot attend a regular class. Please call in advance to schedule a lesson.

Basics and Beyond

BEGINNING KNITTING
Learn basics of knitting and complete a hat in this 3-week class. 
Materials:  150 yds. worsted weight yarn, 16” circular sz. 8 and sz 8 dp needles. 
Three week class:  $60
      Tuesdays:  6:15 – 8:15 pm, September 28 – October 12
      Wednesdays:  6:15-8:15 pm, October 13 - 27
      Tuesdays:  6:15 – 8:15 pm, November 9 - 23
      Wednesdays:  6:15 pm – 8:15 pm, December 8 - 22

 
BURBERRY INSPIRED COWL NECK SCARF
Knit cowls have become a popular accessory  and  this one is quick to knit with bulky yarn and large needles--so knit one for yourself or someone else. 
Materials:  250 yards of bulky (3.5 sts = 1”) yarn, size 10 needles, cable needle and tapestry needle.  Pattern can be downloaded from ravelry.com.
Two-Week Class:  $50
      Wednesdays:  6:15 – 8:15 pm, September 29 – October 6
 

OBLIQUE SHAWL
Make a statement with this fabulous keyhole shawl!  An interesting pattern and stitch techniques will hold your attention and having four classes over six weeks will allow plenty of time to complete the project.  Intermediate knitters and above.
Materials:  4 skeins of Invernal or 1180 yds of equivalent yarn, Season’s Change, Volume One pattern book from Aslan Trends, size 6 and 7 needles, or size needed for gauge, stitch holders and 4” swatch in stockinette stitch  of 19 sts and 26 rows.
Four Week Class:  $80
      Thursdays:  7 pm – 9 pm , October 7, 14, 28  and November 11

 
SWEATER BASICS
For first-time sweater knitters.   From selecting a pattern to the final finishing touches, this class will equip you with the skills needed to complete a great sweater.  Basic knitting experience required.
Materials:  150 yds worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles, paper and pencil.  Knitting materials for sweater will be needed for second class.
Six Week Class:  $110
      Sundays:  11:00 am – 1 pm, October 17 – November 21
 

ITTY BITTY HATS
Learn some new techniques including colorwork, I-cord, applique and basic crochet while knitting adorable hats.
Materials:  Itty Bitty Hat Book and yarn and needles to make your first hat.
Three Week Class:  $60
      Tuesdays:  6:15 – 8:15 pm, October 19 - November 2
 
STEEKS
Steeking--Another word for cutting your knitted material.  Many fair-isle and Norwegian designs require steeks but this class will eliminate or at least minimize the fear.   You will cut your swatch and pick up stitches along the cut edges.
Materials:  Two 6” square swatches knit in stockinette stitch with smooth DK or smaller yarn.   Needles you knit swatches with, crochet hook, extra yarn and cro-needle if you have one (not required).
Two Hour Workshop:  $30
      Thursday:  7 – 9 pm, October 21
 

LACY CROCHETED CARDIGAN
For our crocheters looking to expand their crochet skills we have a year-round lacy cardigan worked from the top down in one piece.  This sweater could be a staple in your wardrobe or a new holiday item.  This class requires intermediate crochet skills.
Materials:  Tahki/Stacy Charles Crochet Book 2nd edition, 7-11 skeins Lang Lana Lux, LaGran or 648 – 972 yds of  equivalent yarn, split ring markers, size J crochet hook.
Three-Week Class:  $60
      Wednesdays:  6:15 – 8:15 pm, November 3 - 17
 

UNFINISHED OBJECTS
Get the help you need to finish that work in progress or get back on track with that project that has you stumped. 
Materials:  Unfinished project, pattern, yarn, needles and whatever else the project requires.
Three Week Class:    $60
      Tuesdays:  6:15 – 8:15 pm, November 30 - December 14

 
STITCH SAMPLER SCARF
Expand your knitting stitch vocabulary while completing this scarf, which includes cables, basketweave and a variety of other stitches.  Basic knitting experience required.
Materials:  450 yds heavy worsted weight yarn, Ann Norling #42, sz 8 or 9 needle, stitch markers, row counter, cable needle.
Three Week Class:  $60
      Sundays:   11 am – 1 pm, December 5 - 19
