Whatever your skill or interest, we have a class you'll enjoy. Most classes are held in the evening after regular hours and are limited to eight people. New class schedules are published in September, December and March.

You can either sign up for classes in person or over the phone with a valid credit card. Payment is required to reserve your spot and there will be no refunds or credits for withdrawal from any class. If a class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment a complete refund will be made. Please come in and buy your supplies before the first class.

Classes fill up quickly, please call to check availability.

All classes, except beginning knitting, require basic knitting experience.

Private Lessons

We offer private knitting and crochet lessons (generally one hour long) during regular hours Tuesday thru Friday for anyone who prefers individual instruction, needs help with a specific project, or cannot attend a regular class. Please call in advance to schedule a lesson.

Beginning Knitting
Learn basics of knitting and complete a hat in this 3-week class.
Experience required: none
Materials: 150 yds.worsted weight yarn, 16” circular sz. 8 and sz 8 dp needles.
Three week class: $60
Tuesdays: 6:15 – 8:15 pm, April 17 – May 1
Wednesdays: 6:15 – 8:15 pm, May 9 - 23


Top-down Cardigan*
Knit from the top down, this cardigan has a lace-flowered yoke—good for year round with no seams to sew.
Experience required: advanced beginner - intermediate
Materials: Estelle pattern from ravelry.com, approriate yarn and needles in size to get desired gauge.
Four-week class: $75
Wednesdays: 6:15 – 8:15 pm, April 4, 11, 25 & May 2

Crochet
Crochet a small baby blanket or throw. This class is for beginners and new crocheters who want a finished project from their new skill.
Experience required: none
Materials: Fiber Trends leaflet ch-31, size j crochet hook and 915 yds of worsted weight yarn.
Three-week class: $60
Wednesdays: 6:15 – 8:15 pm, June 6 - 20

Socks with a Twist
Knit socks from the top down on four needles with an interesting stitch pattern to provide a challenge.
Experience: knitting on 4 needles.
Materials: 350 yds sport/dk weight yarn and size 3 or 4 dp needles
Three-week class: $60
Tuesdays: 6:15 – 8:15 pm, March 27 – April 10

Lace Shawl
Shawls are great summer cover-ups and this rectangular lace shawl is no exception. This pattern has options for different stitch patterns to provide continued interest.
Experience: advanced beginner
Materials: Cold Mountain pattern from knitty.com, 1250 yds lace weight yarn , us size 3 needles.
Three-week class: $60
Tuesdays: 6:15 – 8:15 pm, May 8 - 22

Correcting Mistakes
Have you ever knit when you should have purled? Dropped a stitch? Forgot a yarn over? Or encountered one of the myriad of problems knitters face? Learn how to correct/compensate for many of these problems in this two-hour workshop.
Materials: several knit squares with stitches on needles, or stitch holders, needles to knit with and crochet hook and tapestry needle.
Two-hour workshop: $30
Tuesday: 6:15 – 8:15 pm, June 5

Finishing
Learn how to give a professional finish to all your knitted projects. Learn 3-needle, i-cord, and picot bind-off, kitchener stitch, seaming, picking up stitches and weaving in ends.
Materials: four or five 4” squares, of different stitch patterns (garter, stockinette, seed, rib eg.) Left on needle or on stitch holders with yarn attached. Appropriate sized needles, crochet hook, tapestry needle and scissors.
Two-week class: $50
Tuesdays: 6:15 – 8:15 pm, June 12 - 19
